Frequently Asked Questions

What is AMU-OSS?

AMU-OSS is the Open Source Software Community of Aligarh Muslim University. It is a community of people, who love to talk about all kinds of software development and tech stuff. Besides being an ever-active place to interact with other developers, there’s more to it. One way to evolve, is to keep learning on our own.

How to join this community?

Just enter your email address at this invite link and follow the instructions in the email. The first thing you should do after joining Slack is introduce yourself in the #introduction channel. It doesn’t have to be an essay (although, we’d love to know as much as you can tell). It can simply be a couple of lines stating your name, what are your interests, how you came to know about us, etc.

I’ve heard you folks conduct a training session. When/Where does that happen?

We have online sessions every Sunday at around 4-5 PM in which we have decided the topic with the community and then we will discuss on that topic and also if someone has stuck in some problem so he/she can also discuss those problems.

How much does it cost?

You need to pay with your time and dedication towards the program. This payment is necessary, otherwise you are not welcome.

Are there any other activities?

We have tech-talks on every Wednesday during 12:30 to 13:30 hours at ML-10, Main Building, Zakir Husain College of Engg. & Technology. Other than these, we also conduct two hackathons in the University till now and we are planning to do more. Stay tuned!
